New primary school in Upplands-Bro

The former marketplace in Upplands-Bro is now set to become a vibrant mixed-use area with housing, services, a school, pre-school, and green spaces. At a time when sustainable urban development is essential to take responsibility for future generations, Viby will include everything needed for a well-functioning daily life.

As part of this vision for a new community shaped by social and ecological sustainability, Raoul Wallenberg Schools will establish a pre-school and primary school for grades F-9. The preliminary start date for the primary school is August 2026. The school and preschool are foundational elements of value-based urban development, with their natural focus on children, youth, their development, and well-being. By situating the school with direct access to both the town square and cycling paths, the importance of the school as a meeting and workplace for both children and adults is emphasized. The school will be a fully equipped F-9 institution for approximately 600 students, thereby providing education for children of all ages in the local area. The outdoor environment will be spacious and take advantage of the natural terrain to the south.

Expressions of interest for more information about RWS Viby can now be submitted. Information about the school will be sent continuously to those who have registered. Applications for placement will open in 2026, and placement offers will be sent out the same year.

The school at the heart of the village

The operations will be conducted in accordance with RWS’s successful school concept, “The school at the heart of the village”. The schools will be seamlessly integrated to create a cohesive educational journey, with a clear thread from early years in pre-school through to primary education. RWF Viby welcomes all children and youth, regardless of interests, abilities, or socioeconomic background.

We are committed to ensuring that our schools reflect the diversity of the surrounding community in various ways. We believe this creates the best dynamics in the school environment while also contributing to positive societal development.

“We are passionate about making a positive difference for every individual child and student in our schools.” This is our mission.

Knowledge and character

The school will be characterized by a safe environment with calm and focused study conditions. Health and physical activity will be central to the school’s operations. Through our “Well-being Leader Program”, we will encourage activity and camaraderie, with specially selected students leading physical activities during breaks for their peers.

The primary mission of the school is to foster students’ academic development. However, at RWS, we also place significant emphasis on students’ character development, inspired by our role model Raoul Wallenberg and the guiding principles that will permeate RWS Viby.

The school will be marked by strong collaboration between teachers and recreation leaders, ensuring that the after-school program also supports students’ academic progress. Our student health team will carry out targeted preventive and promotional health work within the school.

Our ambition is to recruit dedicated and qualified staff—school leadership, teachers, recreation leaders, and the student health team. We hold very high expectations for all our staff, both in terms of pedagogical and character-based leadership. Our staff are expected to serve as strong role models for the students.
