I am humbly proud to lead a school where everyone, without hesitation, takes positive actions to benefit others.
Raoul Wallenberg is our role model, and his influence shapes our view of students, our work, and our drive to take action. I have never encountered so many people in one place, all united by the shared goal of making a positive difference for others.
From Grade 7:
In an increasingly international and digitalized world, understanding one’s own and others’ nationalities and cultures is becoming more important. Our “International Class” helps spark students’ interest in the world around them and better prepares them for a future where national borders matter less.
The instruction is conducted 50% in English, which lays a solid foundation for further studies both nationally and internationally. The International Class is aimed at students with Swedish, English, or another language as their mother tongue. Students should have a well-developed command of English to fully benefit from the instruction.
At RWS, students are given a unique opportunity to choose a profile subject, providing them with new challenges and opportunities within their specific area of interest. We have allocated dedicated time for the profile choices within the framework of the school’s electives, ensuring that the regular curriculum is not affected.
The Sports Profile is designed for students who wish to train during school hours. The school offers students the opportunity to join organized training groups in dance, football, handball, martial arts, equestrian sports, ice hockey, and figure skating. All training sessions are led by qualified instructors with ties to successful local sports clubs.
The Sports Profile also includes a theoretical component that covers: Motivation and goal setting, nutrition and health, training Science and Anatomy, sportsmanship and mental Training.
This profile offers students a comprehensive approach to sports, combining practical training with essential theoretical knowledge for personal and athletic development.
The Practical/Aesthetic Profile gives students the opportunity to learn both how to collaborate and work independently in the development of their creativity. Students choose to specialize in one of the following subjects: art, music, or home and consumer studies.
This profile enables students to nurture their creative talents, improve their practical skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the artistic and practical subjects they choose to explore.
Our mathematics initiative allows us to offer a profile that presents challenges for students with a strong aptitude and keen interest in mathematics. Students enhance their problem-solving skills, abstract thinking, and logical reasoning abilities.
Laboratory-based mathematics is an integral part of the curriculum, where modern technology is used as a tool to deepen understanding, particularly in areas such as programming. This hands-on approach enables students to apply mathematical concepts to real-world scenarios and fosters an engaging learning environment.
The English profile is designed for students with a particular interest in the English language who wish to deepen their knowledge and skills. The instruction is an extension of the regular curriculum and aims primarily to enhance students’ proficiency and academic performance in the subject, boosting both their language abilities and merit scores.
RWS 7–9 consists of two school buildings. One building houses several of our practical and aesthetic classrooms, while the other contains our theory classrooms. The school operates in newly built, beautiful, and fresh facilities with fully equipped classrooms. We also have our own preparation kitchen, Raoul’s Kitchen, which prepares delicious and nutritious lunches for our students.
RWS 7–9 is located in an expanding part of Skövde, where former industrial areas have been transformed into new housing, service-oriented businesses, and where the school serves as an important hub for the growing area at the foot of Billingen. The school is easily accessible by public transportation.
The schoolyard has been newly renovated and invites both physical and creative activities. It features an artificial turf field suitable for football, floorball, and other team sports. In the inner courtyard, there are friendship swings, ping-pong tables, and seating areas where students can relax and recharge for the school day.
