A secure learning environment in which children discover new things every day!
Home / RWF Vega 1
Our two pre-schools in Vega are located just a stone’s throw from each other, allowing educators to visit one another’s activities, draw inspiration, and collectively build a cohesive and equitable pre-school experience within our school unit. We have spacious, fresh facilities spread over two floors, featuring five departments and a library. These spaces provide plenty of room for diverse meeting areas that invite children to explore, play, imagine, and interact.
To stimulate children’s curiosity and love of learning, we follow a well-established approach centered on pedagogical staging. This means we intentionally design the physical and social environment, creating various learning spaces where teaching takes place. Our present and attentive educators actively participate in the children’s investigations and explorations, placing learning at the core of our work.
We focus daily on fostering a calm working environment by dividing the children into smaller groups, ensuring that every child has the right conditions for development, learning, and a voice in their learning journey. This approach allows us to see the unique differences and emerging abilities in each child.
Language development is a priority, with educators serving as strong linguistic role models. We work with both verbal and non-verbal communication to strengthen the children’s language skills. Through this intentional effort, we contribute to a positive impact on society, recognizing that language and communication are foundational.
Together, we make a positive difference for every individual child and the community.
Every child, regardless of their needs, should be offered a preschool that is safe and lays the foundation for learning. We provide children with accessible and inspiring environments that help them develop the right conditions to succeed and reach their full potential.
We actively embrace our health profile, ensuring weekly physical activities while also emphasizing the importance of recovery. Research shows that physical activities enhance children’s memory, concentration, and self-esteem. As a preschool, we carry a significant responsibility in shaping our future citizens.
In both planned and spontaneous teaching, health remains a central focus. We also have two health ambassadors who take on additional responsibility in guiding and implementing our health-centered approach.
We prioritize a language development approach that includes both verbal language and TAKK (Signs as Alternative and Augmentative Communication), ensuring that all children have the opportunity to make their voices heard. Educators serve as linguistic role models, fostering language growth through both planned and spontaneous activities.
For the youngest children, we use Babblarna to support speech and language training. With children aged 3–4 years, we incorporate a preparatory version of the Bornholm Model through rhymes, songs, and language games. For the oldest children, we prepare them for school using the full Bornholm Model, which strengthens phonological awareness and lays the foundation for reading and writing skills.
Our goal is to create a clear and consistent path from pre-school to school, ensuring a seamless transition and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
When you arrive at our preschool, you are greeted by an inviting yard that encourages play and exploration. Our spacious building houses all the departments, with three dedicated to younger children and two to older children.
We have a library that is accessible daily, offering opportunities for read-aloud sessions and other activities designed to promote language development. Collaboration is a cornerstone of our preschool, ensuring that all children feel secure with every educator, regardless of their department.
We are located in a newly established area with a variety of nearby amenities, including shops, a library with a rich cultural offering, a commuter train station, schools, and forested areas.
On the pre-school yards and in the nearby forest areas, children are offered a variety of daily pedagogical activities that provide numerous benefits, supporting their emotional and mental health, well-being, social skills, cognitive development, problem-solving, and scientific learning. We apply pedagogical staging outdoors as well, following our philosophy that “anything you can do indoors, you can also do outdoors.”
We also have an amazing forest yard that challenges children’s gross motor skills, allowing them to practice balance and strengthen their muscles. Being close to nature provides children with the opportunity to build a connection with all living things.
With two yards available, children can spread out and choose activities that suit their different interests and needs, ensuring space and opportunities for everyone.
Across all departments, a clear and consistent red thread is evident in our project work, where children’s participation and influence are integral to the educational process. Our learning environments are accessible, inviting, and permissive, placing children’s creativity and expression at the center. These spaces foster a sense of calm, feature well-defined meeting areas, and inspire children to explore and discover.
Play holds a central role in our approach—it is through play that children acquire new knowledge and process their experiences. As a complement to the home, we integrate recycled and natural materials, encouraging children to challenge their creativity and imagination.
