Raoul Wallenberg School has taken a significant step in its digital development with the launch of a new website and an updated visual identity.
A pre-school where everyone belongs!
RWF Upplands Väsby is located on the ground floor of the new intergenerational building, designed to encourage interaction and collaboration between children and seniors. The pre-school is housed on the ground floor, while the upper floors accommodate the senior living facility. We meet weekly for shared activities and celebrate traditions together, an arrangement that brings joy and benefits to everyone involved.
For us, it is important that everyone who comes to us feels welcome, regardless of age. Ensuring that each child experiences joyful learning every day, tailored to their individual abilities, with excellent care, is a core principle of our preschool. We, as educators, are dedicated to the well-being of the children, emphasizing strong relationships and promoting engagement for both children and families.
As a guardian, leaving your child at preschool requires trust, and for us, building strong relationships is the foundation of that trust. We actively encourage family involvement, finding ways to include them in our activities and projects, which are based on the children’s interests and needs. These activities are then documented in Tyra and in the children’s personal learning logs, ensuring transparency and collaboration.

As the principal, my goal is for everyone—both young and old—to come to our pre-school with joy. The pre-school should be a place to look forward to and feel proud of.
Children should learn through play in a joyful learning environment, developing trust in their own abilities. Our guiding principles will be with us every step of the way: if we create a world that is good for children, it will be good for everyone.
Our preschool is unique as it is located in an intergenerational house, where our children have the opportunity to meet and interact with seniors. Through regular meetings in smaller groups, the pre-school visits the senior living facility to engage in activities such as conversations, singing, and creating together.
Our pre-school plays a role in shaping the future of society and is part of Raoul Wallenberg’s vision of a “School at the heart of the community,” serving as a meeting place for everyone—a vision we embody in our intergenerational living environment.
Our pre-school is located in a newly built intergenerational house, centrally situated in Upplands Väsby. Within walking distance of several parks and forests, all children visit these natural areas at least once a week to explore, learn about, and feel secure in their local surroundings.
Our pre-school consists of four departments: two for younger children and two for older children, each forming a base with shared spaces for interaction. We aim to create environments that encourage play, learning, and independence, tailored to each individual’s abilities and needs.
Our pre-school has two yards where the gates are often left open, allowing younger and older children to interact. We provide enriching environments both through physical spaces and activity boxes designed to complement play and learning in line with various curriculum goals. From our yard, children can look up to the seniors’ balconies to wave to those outside or peer through the windows for a glimpse inside, creating an environment that fosters curiosity and joy.
