Where children acquire new knowledge every day!
Home / RWF Järvastaden
We are a pre-school with high ambitions, where learning is the focus, and the quality of our activities is excellent. Here, children can play, learn, and grow, from preschool to pre-kindergarten and all the way up to grade 9. With a nature reserve just around the corner and a clear weekly structure, we create a safe environment and opportunities for meaningful learning where children explore and discover together with peers and educators.
We work on a project-based approach with an intercultural perspective, where language development and diversity are at the center. Our learning environments invite interactions between children, materials, and educators. Through our core values—Courage, Honesty, Determination, and Compassion—we strengthen children’s character and values, striving for an equitable preschool where everyone gains valuable experiences.
Health and movement are important parts of our daily routine, including outdoor activities, pulse-raising exercises, and relaxation through yoga or mindfulness. We work closely with parents, encouraging dialogue to create the best possible conditions for the children’s development together.
I am so proud of our pre-school and all the skilled educators who do their best for every child every day. We engage in collaborative meetings and training sessions where we discuss and embrace new research on preschool education to grow and develop together.
At RWF Järvastaden, we have a clear organization and well-defined routines that are essential for us to succeed in our mission. The proximity to nature and the nature reserve provides opportunities for extensive outdoor activities and outdoor education. With Raoul Wallenberg Schools’ own kitchen – Raoul’s Kitchen – we ensure that the children are served delicious and nutritious meals.
We are located in a relatively new residential area that is still growing. Our close proximity to nature and the nearby nature reserve offers great opportunities for outdoor education in the immediate vicinity.
In our schoolyards and nearby forest areas, we offer children a variety of activities that inspire exploration, play, and movement, guided by educators who take on a co-exploring role. Together, the children and educators experience the joy of movement, sparking the children’s interest in a healthy lifestyle. We have a strong focus on sustainability, teaching children about it through activities such as gardening, upcycling, and following nature’s cycles. They learn the importance of caring for nature and the environment for the sake of the planet.
We have the privilege of working in bright, new, and beautiful facilities with large windows, where children’s meeting spaces encourage exploration, play, imagination, and interaction. We have excellent access to literature through our library, as well as books in every classroom and language-stimulating materials such as flannel boards, language bags, language boxes, and more.
We work with partner departments, where the younger groups collaborate around two child groups, form cross-groups, and support each other in cases of absence. Our 3–4-year-old groups cooperate based on the opportunities available, with two or three departments sharing activities on different schoolyards in the mornings and afternoons. Our three 5-year-old groups have excellent collaboration across various configurations.
This creates strong teamwork across the entire preschool, fostering a sense of security for children, guardians, and educators. It also helps more educators get to know each other, enhancing workplace satisfaction. This collaboration ultimately provides greater stability and confidence for children, guardians, and educators alike.
